Driving Exam Overhaul: Maneuvering Course to Be Scrapped

Poland’s Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak announced plans to reform the driver’s licensing system, eliminating the practical maneuvering course.

Exam System Reform Announced

Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak announced on Friday the preparation of a bill to reform the driver examination system, with significant changes planned.

The minister stated the changes will be “deep,” affecting both the examination and training systems.

Maneuvering Course Elimination

Drivers taking the Category B driving test will no longer be required to complete the maneuvering course.

Minister Klimczak noted that many European countries are moving away from this type of exam, considering it outdated, and the ministry agrees with this assessment.

New Exam Question Body

The commission responsible for preparing questions for the written driving exam will undergo a significant change.

The new body will have different state support than the current one, and the number of questions in the database will also change.

Real-World Relevance

The driving exam, regardless of category, must reflect real-world driving conditions, the minister emphasized.
