A drone crashed on a military unit in Leźnica Wielka on February 6, with no damage or injuries reported as investigation continues.

Incident in Leźnica Wielka

The incident occurred on Thursday, February 6, on the territory of a military unit in Leźnica Wielka, where the 1st Air Cavalry Battalion is stationed. The information was confirmed by Col. Paweł Durka, spokesman for the Military Gendarmerie. According to reports, an unmanned aerial vehicle crashed on the unit’s territory, causing no damage or threat to soldiers.

Gendarmerie Conducting Investigation

“Currently, procedural activities are being carried out at the scene of the incident,” it was announced on the official profile of the Military Gendarmerie. The investigation is being conducted by the Military Gendarmerie Department in Łódź. At this stage, the services do not inform where the drone came from or who might have been controlling it.

Military Gendarmerie Reminds of Penalties

The Military Gendarmerie also reminds that according to aviation law, flying aircraft, including drones, over military areas and facilities is a crime. This is punishable by up to five years in prison.
