Drunk 18‑Year‑Old Drove Seat into Shop Building, Police Arrested

An 18‑year‑old from Płock County crashed a seat into a shop in Zakroczym on Dec. 16, was found drunk, carried an extra passenger, and has been arrested.

On the evening of 16 December, after 8:30 p.m., the incident occurred on Warszawska Street in Zakroczym, a town in central Poland.

Offender’s Driving Circumstances

The 18‑year‑old, a resident of Czerwińsk nad Wisłą, was driving a seat car that crashed into the shop’s façade. He had no driving licence, was operating with more passengers than the vehicle’s registration allowed, and tested at over 2.5 promila of alcohol in his breath.

Police Response and Arrest

Traffic police and Zakroczym station officers were dispatched immediately. They detained the driver shortly after the collision, and he was taken to the police station, where the arrest was finalized.

Legal Consequences and Pending Charges

After clearing, the offender will face criminal charges. He could be sentenced to up to three years in prison, a large fine, and a driving ban.

Warnings About Drunk Driving and Overloading

Authorities warned that driving while intoxicated and carrying excess passengers pose severe risks to all road users, and urged witnesses to report suspected alcohol‑impaired driving to prevent tragedies.
