Warsaw police detained a 36-year-old Tajik citizen who fled the scene of a collision while under the influence and violating a driving ban.
Initial Collision and Suspect Pursuit
Warsaw Metropolitan Police officers (WWP KSP) apprehended a Peugeot driver who left the scene of an accident. The driver, a 36-year-old Tajik national, was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The suspect was also using false license plates and had previously been prohibited from driving by a court order.
Suspect Apprehended in Raszyn
Police quickly traced the suspect to the Raszyn area, where he was hiding in a basement. After documenting the evidence, the man was arrested and held in a detention facility.
Investigation Reveals Multiple Offenses
The investigation, taken over by the Warsaw Włochy Police Station, revealed the driver caused a collision and fled, using license plates registered to a different vehicle. He was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and disregarded a court-ordered driving ban.
Legal Consequences Imposed
Prosecutors, after questioning the Tajik citizen, imposed police supervision and a travel ban as precautionary measures.
