Collision at Głęboka Street Roundabout
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, police received reports about a BMW driver whose suspicious driving led to a collision at the roundabout on Głęboka Street in Warsaw’s Targówek district. The driver was detained after attempting to flee the scene.
Police Pursuit and Witnesses’ Assistance
Two drivers followed the BMW, remaining in contact with authorities and continuously transmitting its position to help patrols locate and stop the vehicle. Before police could intervene, the BMW driver crashed into the rear of a car carrying a mother with two children.
Medical Response and Alcohol Test
A medical rescue team was called to the scene, but after examining all parties, no hospital transport was necessary. Following the collision, the BMW driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by both witnesses and police. Tests revealed he had 1.2 permille of alcohol in his breath.
Legal Status and Future Proceedings
Authorities confirmed the man was driving despite a 2025 driving ban. Additionally, he was wanted by the Kozienice prosecutor’s office to determine his residence. On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the man is being questioned at the prosecutor’s office, with police requesting his remand into custody.
