Drunk Doctor Treated Patients in Pułtusk Hospital

A doctor in Pułtusk, Poland, was found to have over 2.5 promille of alcohol in her system while on duty, potentially endangering patients.

Police Received Report of Intoxicated Doctor

On March 15th, the duty officer at the Pułtusk County Police Headquarters received a report concerning a doctor allegedly treating patients while intoxicated.

Police officers went to the hospital and found Dr. I.L. on duty, attending to patients. They administered a breathalyzer test.

Breathalyzer Reading Exceeded Legal Limit

The test revealed 1.20 mg/l of alcohol in the doctor’s breath, equivalent to over 2.5 promille in her system.

Following the test, the doctor was removed from her duties, and the hospital arranged for replacement staff to ensure continued emergency medical care.

Doctor Treated 23 Patients

Investigators determined that the doctor treated 23 patients on the day of the incident. The prosecutor’s office has requested the hospital to provide medical records and a register of patients she treated on March 15th.

Patients will be questioned as witnesses, and their testimonies, along with the medical documentation, will be crucial to the ongoing investigation.

Prosecution Investigating Patient Endangerment

The investigation currently focuses on whether the doctor’s actions endangered patients’ lives or caused serious health harm. The prosecution has not yet announced any further procedural decisions regarding the doctor.
