Police in Warsaw arrested a drunk driver who had over 2 per mille alcohol in his breath.
Incident Details
Late in the evening, officers patrolling Nadrzeczna Street spotted a Peugeot moving erratically. The driver was not keeping in his lane, prompting police to stop the vehicle for inspection.
Alcohol Test and License Violation
Officers detected a strong smell of alcohol from the driver. A breathalyzer test revealed over 2 per mille of alcohol, confirming he was driving under the influence. The 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen also lacked a valid driver’s license.
Arrest and Court Ruling
The man was detained and taken to the police station. After sobering up, he was charged with driving under the influence. Investigators secured sufficient evidence for an accelerated trial, leading to a one-year prison sentence, suspended for three years, a three-year driving ban, a 5,000 zloty fine, and forfeiture of the vehicle.
