Easter Patrol Leads to High-Speed Chase
An Easter patrol in Sokołów Podlaski resulted in a chase involving a 53-year-old driver of a Ford Mustang. The driver had almost 3 promille of alcohol in his blood and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over.
On Easter Sunday, April 5th, the Sokołów Podlaski police station received a report of a drunk driver operating a Ford Mustang. Officers from the Traffic Department spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver ignored signals and a pursuit began.
Driver Loses Control and Crashes
Due to excessive speed, the driver lost control, hit a roadside ditch, struck a tree, and overturned. He sustained injuries. The driver was identified as a 53-year-old resident of the Sokołów Podlaski district.
A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of nearly 3 promille.
Second Arrest in Two Days
It was discovered that the same 53-year-old resident had been stopped for a traffic control on April 4th in Brzozów Kolonia (Sokołów Podlaski commune). A breathalyzer test on that occasion showed almost 1.5 promille of alcohol in his system.
Checks revealed the vehicle’s technical inspection had expired over a year ago. Officers confiscated the driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Facing Legal Consequences
The man will face charges for driving under the influence and failing to comply with a police order to stop. He could face up to 5 years in prison, a substantial fine, and a driving ban.

Sokołów Podlaski police remind the public that drunk drivers pose a potential threat on the roads. They urge people not to drive after consuming alcohol and to report any observed instances of drunk driving.
