Drunk Driver Crashes Into Residential Building

A 40-year-old man faces up to three years in prison after crashing his Ford Focus into a building in Sochaczew, Poland, while over twice the legal alcohol limit.

On March 23rd, around 6:00 PM, Sochaczew County Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a residential building on Staszica Street.

Police officers dispatched to the scene determined that the 40-year-old driver of a Ford Focus had veered from his lane onto the sidewalk and struck the building.

Damage and Injuries

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. However, the building’s facade sustained damage.

Driver’s Condition and Arrest

A breathalyzer test revealed the driver had over 2 promille of alcohol in his system. He was arrested and taken into police custody.

Police confiscated his driver’s license and vehicle registration due to the damage caused by the collision.

Pending Charges and Warning

The man will be charged with driving under the influence, a crime punishable by up to three years in prison, and for causing the collision.

Authorities remind the public that even small amounts of alcohol impair concentration, reaction time, and judgment. They urge people to report suspected drunk driving.
