In Legionowo on Dec. 18, a 34‑year‑old driver who ignored police directives crashed a Skoda into a roadside tree and escaped on foot, while police seized amphetamine and electronic scales from a 42‑year‑old co‑occupant.
Police Attempted Stop
On Thursday, 18 December, just before 2:00 a.m., patrol officers tried to stop a Skoda driver with lights and sirens. The driver ignored the command and accelerated toward escape.
Driver Loses Control and Fleeing
After a brief chase, the driver lost control, hit a roadside tree, abandoned the damaged vehicle and walked away before the patrol arrived. Breath‑test later showed a blood‑ethanol level above 1 promille.
Search Reveals Drug Evidence
Police located the driver at a pre‑identified address, where a 42‑year‑old roommate was also found. White powder on a table led to the discovery of amphetamine, two electronic scales, and drug‑filled packets.
The 42‑year‑old admitted possession of the substances, while the 34‑year‑old was later tested and found to have more than 1 promille of alcohol in his breath.
Arrests and Charges
Both men were taken into custody. The 34‑year‑old faces charges of driving under influence, causing a collision and failure to stop for a road check. The 42‑year‑old is charged with possession of prohibited substances.
