Police in Sokołów Podlaski, Poland, recovered a stolen Toyota and detained two intoxicated men, aged 39 and 32, less than an hour after the vehicle was reported missing.
Report of Vehicle Theft
On Tuesday, April 21st, police in Sokołów Podlaski received a report concerning the theft of a Toyota vehicle within the city limits. The stolen vehicle was valued at 20,000 złoty.
Rapid Response and Search
The on-duty officer immediately relayed the report to patrolling police units. While some officers were clarifying the details of the theft with the victim, other patrols initiated a search for the stolen car.
Vehicle Recovery and Arrests
Within an hour of the initial report, Sokołów Podlaski’s criminal investigation department located the stolen Toyota on a property in Sokołów Podlaski and apprehended the 39-year-old and 32-year-old residents of the Sokołów county.
Both men were found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of their arrest; the 39-year-old had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system, while the 32-year-old had almost 4 per mille.
Charges Filed and Vehicle Returned
The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner, and the detained men were placed in a police holding cell. On Wednesday, April 22nd, they were charged with vehicle theft. The 39-year-old also faces a charge of driving under the influence.
The suspects will soon answer for their actions in court.
