On All Saints’ Day, Warsaw police halted a drunken, unlicensed Peugeot driver in Praga South after a witness called for help and a police helicopter crew joined the operation.
Witness Alert Fuels Swift Response
A passer‑by, who had been following a Peugeot on Kramarska Street, noticed the driver’s erratic behavior. He immediately contacted police, reporting the vehicle’s location and the driver’s lack of a licence.
Helicopter Team Joins Ground Patrol
The helicopter crew from the Warsaw Police Aviation Unit, participating in the “Znicz” operation, quickly joined the ground team. A traffic‑police officer on board coordinated the air support for the interception.
Combined Aerial and Ground Effort Stops 39‑Year‑Old
The 39‑year‑old driver had nearly 2‰ blood alcohol, was operating without a licence, and his car had no compulsory insurance or valid technical inspection. He was arrested in the Wieniawy‑Długoszowskiego area and the Peugeot was towed to police parking.
Arrest, Towing, and Legal Proceedings
The man was taken to a police cell and, upon sobering the next day, faced charges of driving under influence. He could receive up to three years in prison if convicted.
