Drunk Tractor Driver Crashes Into Power Pole

A 50-year-old man in Kłonna, Poland, crashed a tractor into a power pole with nearly 4 promille of alcohol in his system on March 20th.

On Friday, March 20th, police in Przysucha County received a report of a traffic incident in Kłonna. Officers found an Ursus agricultural tractor had collided with a power pole.

The pole was broken and supported only by overhead power lines directly above the roadway, posing a serious hazard to other traffic.

Driver Identified and Tested

The vehicle owner stated her brother was operating the tractor and was at their residence. Police located the 50-year-old resident of Przysucha County, who admitted to driving the tractor while intoxicated.

A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of almost 4 promille. He was arrested and taken to the Przysucha County Police Headquarters for further processing.

Legal Consequences and Investigation

Traffic police inspected the vehicle. The man’s driver’s license and the tractor’s registration were confiscated due to suspected drunk driving. He was released after initial procedures.

The Criminal Department is now handling the case and conducting further investigation. Firefighters from the State Fire Service and Volunteer Fire Department, as well as emergency power workers, also responded to the scene.
