Drunk Tractor Driver Stopped by Polish Police

A 51-year-old man was apprehended in Gniewoszów, Poland, for operating a tractor with over three times the legal alcohol limit.

On Wednesday, April 22nd, Kozienice police received a report of a drunk tractor driver endangering traffic in Gniewoszów. A patrol from the Gniewoszów Police Station was dispatched to the location.

Witnesses intervened, taking the tractor keys from the 51-year-old man, preventing further operation of the vehicle. The tractor was identified as a Ursus model.

High Alcohol Content

Police administered a breathalyzer test, revealing an alcohol concentration exceeding 3 promille in the driver’s system. His driver’s license was immediately suspended.

Facing Charges

The 51-year-old resident of the Kozienice district was taken into police custody. After sobering up, he was charged with driving under the influence, an offense punishable by up to three years in prison, a lengthy driving ban, and a fine to the Justice Fund.

Police reiterate that driving under the influence poses a severe threat to life and health. The swift action of the witnesses likely prevented a tragedy.
