Drunk Ukrainian Driver Crashes After Fleeing Collision

A 63-year-old Ukrainian citizen was airlifted to a hospital after crashing his car in Wólka Pęcherska, Poland, on May 5th.

Initial Collision and Escape

On May 5th, around 3:30 PM, a serious road incident occurred in Wólka Pęcherska, Piaseczno County, involving a Honda passenger car. The driver lost control, veered into a roadside ditch, rolled over, and came to rest against trees.

The incident reportedly began several kilometers earlier in Bogatki, where the driver allegedly hit a fence and fled the scene. A witness recovered the lost license plate and followed the Honda.

Rescue Operation

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Witnesses at the scene were unable to extricate him, and firefighters were called to free him from the wreckage before handing him over to paramedics.

Medical Transport and Investigation

The man required urgent medical attention and was transported to the hospital by helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service. Police detected the smell of alcohol on the driver, but were unable to perform a sobriety test at the scene due to his condition.

A blood sample will be taken at the hospital for analysis. Police have secured the vehicle, which has been towed to a police parking lot, and are continuing their investigation.
