A 43-year-old man faces up to five years in prison after fleeing a police sobriety check in Radom while driving under the influence and without a license.
The Police Pursuit
After midnight on Monday, May 4, Radom traffic police conducting sobriety checks on Wojska Polskiego Street attempted to stop a Peugeot.
The driver ignored officer commands and fled, prompting an immediate police pursuit using sirens and light signals.
Crash and Apprehension
During the escape, the driver struck a property fence before entering a forest area in Zenonów. He attempted to evade the patrol by turning off his headlights but ultimately crashed into a tree.
The 43-year-old Radom resident abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but officers successfully apprehended him.
Criminal Charges
The investigation revealed the man was driving with approximately one promille of alcohol in his system and lacked a valid driver’s license.
He faces charges for driving under the influence and failing to stop for a police check, offenses that carry a potential sentence of up to five years in prison.
