Drunk, Unlicensed, No Inspection – Transporting 6-Year-Old Without Car Seat

On February 18, a 37-year-old woman in Gostynin was stopped driving under influence, without a license or valid inspection, with her 6-year-old child unrestrained.

Arrest Details

On February 18, officers from the Gostynin Road Traffic Department arrested a 37-year-old local resident. Tests showed nearly 0.5 per mille alcohol in her system, indicating use. She was transporting a 6-year-old child without a required car seat.

Traffic Stop

Officers stopped a Fiat car driven by the woman. A breathalyzer test confirmed she was under the influence of alcohol. The child in the vehicle was not secured in a mandatory child safety seat.

License and Vehicle Issues

Police checks revealed the woman lacked a valid driver’s license. Additionally, the vehicle had no current technical inspection. Consequently, officers seized the car’s registration document.

Fines and Charges

The woman received fines totaling 900 zł and 10 penalty points for: unrestrained passengers, transporting a child without a car seat, and lacking a valid vehicle inspection.

She will face court for driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Penalties

Driving without a license carries potential penalties: arrest, restriction of liberty, a fine of at least 1,500 zł, and a possible driving ban. Driving under influence risks arrest, a fine of at least 2,500 zł, and a mandatory 6-month to 3-year driving prohibition.

Child Endangerment Case

The family court will be notified regarding the child’s endangerment and will decide on further actions in the matter.
