According to ZUS data, the number of checks on medical certificates issued to pregnant women is growing, and with it, the number of appeals against decisions claiming improper use of benefits.

Significant Risk for Pregnant Women

Although checks on certificates with code B represent a small percentage of all checks, their number – over 5,000 in 2025 – indicates a real risk for pregnant women, notes Dr. Katarzyna Kalata, legal counsel at Kalata Law Firm.
