Poland’s foreign worker population reached 1.1 million in August 2025, with the government planning to increase their share to 12% by 2030.

As of the end of August 2025 (the latest GUS data), 1,103,000 foreigners were working in Poland, representing a 5.6% increase compared to the previous year. Their share of the total workforce stood at 6.7%, a figure close to the EU average.
However, Poland remains far behind countries like Germany or Spain in terms of immigrant employment. In Germany, the share of foreigners in the workforce exceeds 15%.
Government Immigration Strategy
The government’s 2025-2030 strategy requires the share of foreigners in the labor market to increase to at least 12% by 2030. This would correspond to a workforce of 1.8-2 million foreign workers.
This increase is considered necessary to maintain Poland’s GDP growth pace.
