Eight Men Arrested in Joint Car‑Theft Operation Across Poland

Polish police from Otwock and the Capital Police Command arrested eight men suspected of running a nationwide car‑theft ring, following a coordinated operation that seized vehicles, tools and evidence.

Nationwide Car‑Theft Ring Disrupted

Polish police from the Otwock County Police Headquarters and the Capital Police Command conducted a joint operation targeting a criminal group involved in car theft, burglary, vehicle fraud, and insurance scams. The suspects, aged 28 to 37, were linked to organized crime and had committed offenses across Poland.

Arrests and Detention

All eight men were taken into custody in Otwock’s District Prosecutor’s Office, where they faced charges of organized crime, burglary, attempted burglary, sales fraud, vehicle theft, salvage operations, and insurance fraud. The court granted a provisional three‑month arrest for each suspect.

Evidence Seized

Police seized vehicles used by the suspects, as well as specialized lock‑picking tools, diagnostic equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards, bank documents, anti‑trackers, and signal jammer devices. The vehicles had been set on fire to eliminate forensic traces.

Operation Details

Suspects routinely drove to major cities such as Warsaw, Szczecin, Radom, Siedlce, Białystok, and Zambrów, stole cars—primarily Toyotas, Lexus models, and delivery vans—dismantled front panels, headlights, engines and interior fittings, and sold the parts to salvage operators. The dismantling sites were forest complexes in the Otwock and Mińsk counties.

Cooperation Across Forces

The operation received support from the Warsaw VII District Police Headquarters, the Criminal Unit of the Volhynian Police Command in Białystok, and Border Guard officers from the Odrowaz Branch. Their combined efforts led to the successful neutralization of the car‑theft plot.
