At approximately 4:10 PM on June 8, an elderly woman fell inside a city bus while preparing to exit at the intersection of Puławska and Goworka streets in Warsaw. The passenger lost consciousness and subsequently suffered sudden cardiac arrest.
Details of the Fall
Preliminary reports indicate the woman stood up to exit the bus when the driver braked, causing her to lose her balance. Witnesses stated she fell and lost consciousness immediately, likely striking her head on a component of the vehicle’s interior.
Emergency Response and Condition
Passengers alerted the driver, who stopped at the Goworka street bus stop. Medical responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for approximately 20 minutes before successfully restoring the woman’s vital signs. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
