Electric Scooter Rider Caught Speeding at 46 km/h in Warsaw

Warsaw police stopped an electric scooter rider for speeding at 46 km/h, more than twice the 20 km/h limit, on Jagiellońska Street.

Speeding on an Electric Scooter

Police officers from the Road Traffic Department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters conducted a patrol on Jagiellońska Street in Warsaw, stopping a man riding an electric scooter who was traveling at a speed significantly above the permitted limit.

The Danger of Excessive Speed

The rider was traveling at 46 km/h, 26 km/h above the maximum allowed speed of 20 km/h for electric scooters, regardless of the road section. This speed is close to that allowed for cars in built-up areas (50 km/h) and significantly increases the risk of losing control of the scooter and sustaining serious injuries in case of a fall or collision.

Consequences and Reminder

The officers issued a fine of 400 zł, which the rider accepted. This incident highlights the police’s daily efforts to ensure road safety by monitoring and intervening against drivers who break the rules.
