Emergency Security Meeting Called Amid Middle East Tensions

Poland’s security committee will meet Tuesday to discuss Middle East tensions following Israeli-American attack on Iran.

Polish Security Committee Meeting

Deputy Prime Minister Gawkowski announced the security committee meeting on Monday, March 2, in Mikołajki. He emphasized the need for cooperation between governmental and presidential offices on security matters. The meeting is scheduled for 8:00 AM at the Ministry of National Defense Operational Center.

Israeli-American Attack on Iran

Saturday, Israel conducted a “preventive attack” on Iran. US President Donald Trump confirmed that the American military began a “major combat operation” against Tehran. The Israeli-American strikes resulted in the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials. Iran responded by attacking Israel and US bases in the region.

Polish Leadership Informed

Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported on Saturday that he had received briefings from the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirming that Polish citizens, including embassy staff in Tehran, are safe. US President announced the operation against Iran may last about four weeks until all objectives are achieved, though media reports suggested the US might agree to negotiations while halting military operations.
