Consultations end on draft law strengthening equal pay rights as employers demand implementation delay from June 2026 to January 2027.
Consultations on Equal Pay Law Concluding
Consultations on the draft law strengthening the application of the right to equal pay for men and women for the same work or work of equal value (UC1270) are coming to an end. DGP has obtained the first positions prepared by employers.
Employers Demand Later Implementation
The most important conclusion from these positions is that the entry into force of the regulations in the planned date of June 7, 2026 is unrealistic. The fulfillment of the obligations imposed on employers by new regulations may be impossible because legislative work is still at an early stage, so we do not know the final shape of the regulations.
Meanwhile, their implementation will require from companies not only changes in regulations, but also often a thorough reconstruction of pay structures, purchase of analytical tools and employment of specialists. Therefore, among the employers’ comments, there appeared a demand for the new law to come into force on January 1, 2027.
