The 18th edition of the European Economic Congress (EKG) in Katowice was a record-breaking event, attracting 15,500 participants. Organizers state that including online attendees, no other event in Central Europe matches its scale.
Business-Politics Dialogue Essential
Wojciech Kuśpik, President of the PTWP Group, emphasized the need for dialogue between business and the political sphere, summarizing the key takeaway from the congress.
Geopolitics and Security Dominate Discussions
The congress featured 1,350 speakers representing government, business, academia, and the media. Discussions centered on current global and Polish events, with geopolitics and security as primary themes.
“Local Content” Initiative Highlighted
Sessions dedicated to the government initiative “Local Content. For the Benefit of Poland” were a key component of the congress. Kuśpik commented that large investments in infrastructure, energy, technology, and defense should prioritize local companies.
He stressed the importance of moving beyond rhetoric to ensure tangible economic benefits.
“The Power of Dialogue” Theme Resonates
Kuśpik noted that the congress’s theme, “The Power of Dialogue” (“Siła dialogu”), proved highly relevant throughout the event.
Awards Recognize Investment and Innovation
The EKG also included accompanying events such as the “Investor without Borders” competition for foreign investors in Poland and Polish companies investing abroad. TOP Inwestycje recognized outstanding local government projects, while the EEC Startup Challenge connected innovators with potential partners and investors.
