The European Prosecutor General has requested the Polish Sejm to waive the parliamentary immunity of an unnamed MP in a corruption investigation.
Investigation into Tram Infrastructure Modernization
The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is investigating allegations of active and passive corruption related to a company responsible for modernizing tram infrastructure in the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.
The investment project, spanning 2007-2027, is financed by the EU with a total of 1.9 billion PLN.
Role of the EPPO
The EPPO is the European Union’s public prosecutor, responsible for investigating, prosecuting, and bringing to court crimes affecting the EU’s financial interests.
