False Emergency Calls Target Karol Nawrocki’s Family Home

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has condemned a wave of “spectacular” fake emergency reports targeting public figures, following a forced entry by emergency services into the home of Karol Nawrocki’s family.

Government Response to Targeted Provocations

Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed a series of malicious false alarms involving reported fires and life-threatening situations. He characterized the incident at the home of Karol Nawrocki’s family as an “exceptionally nasty” act of sabotage and a clear criminal offense that causes significant distress to the victims.

The Prime Minister has ordered security services to identify and apprehend those responsible for these provocations. He emphasized that authorities must treat every emergency call with urgency, as responders cannot risk the lives of citizens by attempting to verify the authenticity of an alarm in real-time.

Distinguishing Sabotage from Political Speculation

Tusk criticized the “growing wave of political and conspiracy theories” surrounding the events, dismissing claims that the government is staging these incidents or that victims are orchestrating them. He noted that such rhetoric is both dangerous and unfounded.

The Ministry of Interior and Administration held an emergency meeting with high-ranking police and fire service officials to address these security challenges. Officials confirmed that the targeted property did not fall under the jurisdiction of the State Protection Service (SOP) as it is a private residence belonging to a family member, not the President himself.

Operational Realities of Emergency Services

Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Gałecka explained that emergency responders acted automatically upon receiving reports of a life-threatening fire. Firefighters performed a forced entry because they could not reach any occupant, and the caller remained unreachable.

While the government reviews why current laws fail to deter these perpetrators, the focus remains on neutralizing threats that paralyze emergency systems. Presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz argued that authorities have struggled to provide an adequate response to the ongoing harassment of right-wing figures and journalists over the past two weeks.
