On Friday, February 20, around 8:30 AM, a head-on collision occurred between two passenger cars on national road 63 in the village of Podnieśno (Suchożebry commune, Siedlce county, Mazowieckie voivodeship). The 43-year-old driver of one vehicle was killed at the scene, while the second participant was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Circumstances of the Crash
The collision occurred outside the built-up area on a straight section of DK63. According to preliminary police findings, the driver of a Hyundai i30, a 43-year-old resident of the Sokołów district, was traveling toward Siedlce and for unknown reasons crossed into the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a properly Renault Captur driven by a 27-year-old resident of Sokołów Podlaski.
Traffic Impact
During the operations, national road 63 was completely blocked. Drivers were rerouted through the nearby Solbet company parking lot, and according to transmitted information, disruptions may last until 1:00 PM.
