A car and a truck collided on National Road 8 in Wilków Wielki, Lower Silesia, on March 29th, resulting in three fatalities.
Accident Details
The Ochotnicza Straż Pożarna (Volunteer Fire Brigade) in Łagiewniki reported the accident occurred on Sunday, March 29th, after 6:00 AM in Wilków Wielki, on the section of National Road No. 8 in the Dzierżoniów district of Lower Silesia.
Firefighters from OSP Łagiewniki, OSP Niemcza, and the State Fire Brigade Rescue and Firefighting Unit from Dzierżoniów, along with medical rescue teams and a helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service, were dispatched to the scene.
Police Investigation Findings
According to a statement by Dolnośląskie Police spokesperson, Senior Constable Łukasz Porębski, the 27-year-old female driver, for reasons currently unknown, veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a Scania semi-trailer truck.
Both the 27-year-old driver and her two passengers died at the scene.
Driver Sobriety and Scene Examination
Police confirmed the 52-year-old truck driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. A prosecutor, accident reconstruction expert, and police technicians were present at the scene, conducting investigations until 11:00-11:30 AM.
