On Wednesday 5 November, at Jagiellońska Street near number 88 toward Legionowa, a serious accident involved a pedestrian and a large‑goods vehicle. The man who stepped onto the road in a prohibited area was hit by a Mercedes tanker truck and died after being transported to hospital.

Pedestrian’s path and crash details

The incident occurred in the lane heading toward Modlińska Street. Preliminary reports indicate the pedestrian emerged from the former FSO building area, crossed the right lane, and was struck mid‑lane by the truck. The driver tried to move to the left lane but could not avoid the collision.

Official response and deaths

Emergency services rushed to the scene; the victim was first treated and then transported to hospital in critical condition. Police later confirmed the 30‑year‑old died around 10:20 pm. The 48‑year‑old truck driver was sober.
