Fatal crash on S17 service road kills driver, leaves passenger and two children injured

A vehicle traveling on the S17 service road near Puznówka, Garwolin County, crashed into energy-absorbing barriers, killing the 66‑year‑old driver and leaving a 41‑year‑old passenger and two children hospitalized.

Accident Details

At about 20:00 yesterday, an Opel driven by a 66‑year‑old man left the service road alongside the S17 and struck energy‑absorbing barriers near Puznówka.

The car carried three additional passengers—a 41‑year‑old woman and two children—who were not killed in the collision.

Emergency Response

Police and medical rescue teams arrived immediately and performed CPR on the driver, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 41‑year‑old passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment. The children were handed over to adults and authorities who checked their condition and provided support.

Investigation

Garwolin County Police, under prosecutorial supervision, are investigating the incident, analysing road conditions and evidence to determine the reasons for the vehicle leaving the road and hitting the barriers.
