A 58-year-old woman has died in a Warsaw hospital after falling inside a city bus on route 167 near the intersection of Puławska and Goworka streets on June 8.
Circumstances of the Incident
The incident occurred on Monday, June 8, around 4:10 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate the passenger stood up to prepare for her stop when the bus driver was forced to brake. Not holding onto any support, the woman lost her balance and fell inside the vehicle.
Emergency Response and Medical Outcome
Witnesses report the woman lost consciousness immediately, likely striking her head on the bus interior. Passengers alerted the driver, who stopped at the Goworka street bus stop. Resuscitation efforts were performed on-site for approximately 20 minutes before medical teams managed to restore her vital signs. The passenger was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigation Underway
Despite medical efforts, the 58-year-old woman passed away on June 9. The 59-year-old driver was sober, though blood samples were taken for further testing. Authorities have secured interior and exterior surveillance footage as the prosecutor’s office investigates the exact cause of the fall, the bus’s driving maneuvers, and whether any external road factors contributed to the incident.
