At approximately 7:25 AM, an 84-year-old man died and his 80-year-old wife was injured in a residential fire in Marki, reportedly caused by a faulty furnace.
Incident Details
At approximately 7:25 AM on Zieleniecka Street in Marki (Wołomin county), smoke was reported in one of the apartments. An elderly couple, an 80-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man, was inside. Despite resuscitation attempts, the man could not be saved, and the woman was transported to the hospital.
Investigation Underway
According to preliminary information, the smoke was most likely related to a leaky, old-type furnace. Fire department, medical rescue team, and police are working at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the incident.
