Fatal Head-On Collision on Zakroczym Viaduct; Seicento Driver Dies in Hospital

A head-on collision between a Fiat Seicento and a Ford Transit bus occurred on a Zakroczym viaduct on September 22, resulting in the death of the Seicento’s driver.

Collision and Rescue Efforts

On Monday, September 22, at 17:30, a Fiat Seicento and a Ford Transit bus collided head-on on the viaduct on Doranta Street in Zakroczym. The Seicento’s driver was trapped in the vehicle and was rescued by firefighters using hydraulic tools.

The driver, a resident of Płońsk County, was transported to a hospital by LPR helicopter in a critical condition but unfortunately died.

Bus Passengers and Driver

The bus was carrying six people, including a 22-year-old citizen of Turkmenistan who was driving the vehicle. One of the passengers suffered a head injury and was also hospitalized.

The bus driver was detained, and authorities are verifying whether he has a valid driver’s license.

Emergency Response and Investigation

The emergency response included units from the State Fire Service in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, OSP Zakroczym, medical rescue teams, an LPR helicopter crew, and police.

The viaduct over route S7 was completely blocked during the rescue operation.
