On Monday, March 9, around 18:50, a fatal incident occurred on the tracks between Warsaw Żwirki i Wigury and Warsaw Rakowiec stations, involving Mazowieckie Railways train 97136. The train operates on line RL from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Modlin.
Emergency Response
According to information provided, a 42-year-old man ran in front of the moving train. Fire department, emergency medical services, and police were dispatched to the scene. Despite rescue efforts, the man’s life could not be saved.
Rail Traffic Disruptions
The incident caused significant disruptions to rail traffic. Train delays are reportedly exceeding one hour. Mutual ticket acceptance was introduced between Mazowieckie Railways and SKM at 19:20 until further notice. Passengers were informed of possible changes to tracks and platforms for arrival and departure.
