Fatal Pedestrian Struck by Train After Crossing Despite Lowered Barriers

A 30-year-old woman was fatally struck by a passenger train at a guarded railway crossing in Urle on Tuesday night after ignoring lowered barriers.

Tuesday, February 17, after 10 PM in Urle (Jadów commune, Wołomin county), a fatal accident occurred at a guarded railway crossing. A 30-year-old woman entered the crossing despite lowered barriers and was struck by a passenger train. She died at the scene.

Investigation Underway

Preliminary findings indicate that the pedestrian entered the guarded railway crossing while barriers were lowered. At the same moment, a passenger train was passing, which struck the woman. The death of the 30-year-old was confirmed at the scene.

Further activities at the scene were conducted by police under the supervision of a prosecutor. The exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being determined.

Emergency Response

Nine fire brigades were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters evacuated passengers from the train. Other services also participated in the operations, and the area was secured until the completion of procedural activities.
