Fatal stabbing in Praga-Północ leaves one woman dead, her partner injured; perpetrator, a former partner, apprehended by police.
The Attack
On Tuesday, February 3, before 22:00, a stabbing attack occurred in a stairwell of a building at Łochowska Street in Praga-Północ. The perpetrator attacked a man and a woman with a sharp tool, and the woman died at the scene despite attempts to help her.
According to initial information, the attack took place in the building at Łochowska 52. After the incident, the perpetrator fled on foot and abandoned the tool he used several dozen meters from the attack site.
Victims and Perpetrator
The 70-year-old man who was attacked, the current partner of the woman, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, the 53-year-old woman died at the scene despite the actions of paramedics.
According to preliminary findings, the perpetrator was a 68-year-old man, her former partner. He also sustained injuries and was taken to hospital under strict police protection.
Police Response
Thanks to a quick and effective police operation, the perpetrator was arrested less than an hour after the incident. Numerous police patrols and four medical rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
Paramedics provided assistance to the victims on site before the injured man was transported to the hospital.
Investigation Underway
The perpetrator is currently detained at the disposal of the police and prosecutor’s office for further proceedings.
Further activities at the scene were carried out by police officers, including criminal technicians who, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, secured traces and evidence material.
