Fatal Train Accident Near Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki

On Saturday, May 23, a passenger train operating the Modlin to Warsaw Chopin Airport route struck and killed a person who entered the tracks in Boża Wola.

Incident Details

The incident occurred shortly after 12:00 PM near the Reckitt factory in Boża Wola, located on the border of the Legionowo and Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki districts. A Koleje Mazowieckie passenger train was involved in the collision with an individual who had entered the restricted track area.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Emergency services, including the fire brigade, medical rescue teams, and police, were dispatched to the scene. Despite efforts, the male victim could not be saved. Police are currently working under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the victim’s identity and the circumstances surrounding how they accessed the tracks.

Impact on Rail Traffic

The tragedy caused significant disruptions to rail travel between Modlin and Warsaw. Commuters experienced delays and adjustments to the train schedule while authorities conducted on-site investigations.
