In a single stop on Poland’s S7 expressway on Monday, December 15, 2025, a 40‑year‑old driver and his 20‑year‑old son were seized for speeding, court bans, and lack of vehicle inspections.
Speeding on the S7 Expressway
On Monday, December 15, 2025, police on the S7 near Unierzyż stopped a BMW traveling at 172 km/h against a 120 km/h limit. The driver, a 40‑year‑old resident of Płońsk County, was checked for a court‑issued driving ban. Police detained him at the Mława command base awaiting court proceedings.
Son Arrives, Vehicle Lacks Inspection
The driver’s 20‑year‑old son drove an Audi to retrieve the car. He was also stopped; he had exceeded the 20‑point limit for drivers with less than a year of license, leading to electronic dismissal of his licence. The Audi lacked valid technical testing; its registration was seized.
Court Ruling and Penalties
The case against the father went through accelerated procedure, and the next day the court imposed a one‑year driving ban, a 5,000 PLN fine, and a 5,000 PLN contribution to the Victim Assistance and Post‑Penitentiary Aid Fund.
Police Reminder on Road Safety
Police warned that speeding, ignoring court bans, and driving without required licences or vehicle inspections are serious offences that jeopardise road safety.
