Police officers were called to a residence in the Wąbrzeźno district on June 8, where they discovered the remains of a fetus hidden in a freezer. The Prosecutor’s Office in Wąbrzeźno has initiated an investigation under Article 152, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code, which concerns providing assistance in the termination of a pregnancy.

Initial onsite examination by authorities determined the fetus was 20 centimeters in length, though officials noted that size estimates may be subject to change following the thawing process. The remains have been secured for a scheduled autopsy at the Forensic Medicine Institute in Bydgoszcz on June 11.

The woman residing in the apartment where the discovery was made has been questioned by authorities. As of now, no individuals have been detained in connection with the incident, and police have withheld details regarding the source of the report to protect the integrity of the investigation.
