Police Patrols Ensure Commuter Safety

Everyday travellers rely on Piaseczno Road Traffic Department officers to keep routes safe. Patrols monitor speed, sobriety and violations, reminding citizens of protective rules.

Speeding Inspection on Puławska Street

During a static speed check on Puławska Street, officers noticed an Audi exceeding limits. The vehicle was clocked at 144 km/h where 70 km/h is allowed. Police signaled the driver to stop, but he ignored the command.

Fleeing and Arrest

Instead of halting, the driver accelerated and fled. Police pursued and, after a few minutes, apprehended him on Nowa Street in Stara Iwiczna. The car was taken to a police‑run impound lot.

Alcohol, Drugs and Driving Ban Findings

An breathalyzer showed 2.5‰ alcohol. Records revealed the man lacked a driving licence and had previous court‑issued driving bans. During questioning he claimed his fiancée had upset him and that he drove to a nearby petrol station to vent. He also admitted regular marijuana use and no perceived risk in driving under influence. A drug test was positive for marijuana, methamphetamine and benzodiazepine. Blood samples were taken for lab analysis.

Charges and Potential Sentence

The next day prosecutors filed charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while under influence, refusing to stop for a traffic check, speeding, and operating a vehicle without proper licence. He faces up to five years in prison. The case is overseen by the Piaseczno District Prosecutor’s Office.
