A 40-year-old Polish man has died following a tragic fire at a renovated shooting range in Warsaw’s Ursynów district, bringing the total death toll to five.

Death Toll Rises in Ursynów Fire

The death toll from the tragic fire at Migdałowa 4 in Warsaw’s Ursynów district has risen to five following the death of a 40-year-old Polish citizen on April 1. The man had been in critical condition and remained unconscious after the incident.

The fire, which occurred on March 21, 2026, destroyed a renovated commercial premises adapted for a shooting range, an Iveco delivery van, and a waste container.

Casualties and Victims

Six renovation workers were involved in the incident. Four men, Polish and Ukrainian nationals aged between 33 and 49, died at the scene. Two others were hospitalized: a Ukrainian citizen in non-life-threatening condition and the 40-year-old Polish man who later passed away.

Investigation and Evidence

The Warsaw-Mokotów District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident regarding the endangerment of life, health, and large-scale property damage. Investigators have secured CCTV footage showing the sudden and violent spread of the fire within the premises.

While witnesses reported sounds resembling explosions or gunshots, police have ruled out the presence of firearms or ammunition at the site. Authorities are currently awaiting an expert fire analyst’s report and conducting a review of all evidence to determine the cause of the blaze.
