Fire at Banacha Hospital Complex Building D

Four firefighting units responded to smoke coming from the eleventh floor of the D building at the Banacha hospital complex.

Incident Overview:

On Friday, September 12th at 17:36, an alert was received by the Warsaw Public Security Service about smoke billowing from the eleventh floor of the D building at the Banacha hospital complex, which houses the Reception Room.

Immediately, four firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, where they confirmed the incident and found that refurbishment work had caused a fire in the area.

Firefighters’ Action:

Firefighters located and extinguished the fire, which they believed started during renovation works. They identified and removed the source of the oxygen supply before proceeding to extinguish the flames.

There was no need for evacuation of the building, according to firefighters, as the situation was quickly brought under control.

Concluding Operations:

The firefighting units concluded their crucial operations by 18:59, with thermal camera checks to ensure there were no hidden fire sources remaining. The site was secured and declared safe.
