Fire at Warehouse Near Detention Center Adjacent to Chopin Airport

Incident Details

On the evening of February 24, 2026, at approximately 8:20 PM, a fire broke out in a warehouse building connected to a vacant brick structure on Kłobucka Street in Ursynów, in the industrial area near a detention center. The fire department and police responded to the scene, and no injuries were reported.

The affected object consisted of a metal warehouse measuring approximately 15 × 7 meters and about 3 meters high, along with an adjacent brick vacant space measuring approximately 7 × 3 meters.

Fire Spread and Response

Upon arrival, firefighters identified the main focus of the fire in the warehouse section, where primarily tires, wooden boards, and other accumulated flammable materials were burning. The fire subsequently spread to objects in the brick building and behind it.

During the operation, firefighters removed an 11 kg LPG cylinder from inside the building and cooled it to prevent explosion.

Resolution and Aftermath

By 10:00 PM, the situation was under control, with some fire crews beginning to return to their barracks while others continued ventilation, debris removal, and extinguishing of the remaining hotspots.

The firefighting operation was officially concluded at 10:40 PM. According to reports from the scene, no injuries were sustained. However, residents of nearby housing estates noted smoke in the Kłobucka Street area during the blaze.
