At 8:53 AM, a fire at a carpentry workshop on Rolna Street in Nowe Lipiny, Wołomin County was reported. Firefighters arriving at the scene found the entire approximately 150m² production hall engulfed in flames.
Large-Scale Firefighting Operation Underway
Firefighters are conducting a large-scale operation using five water streams – three attacking the burning hall and two defending an adjacent residential building. The focus is on both extinguishing the fire and preventing it from spreading to neighboring structures.
Production of Flammable Materials Accelerated Spread
The facility was producing parquet and wooden floors. The business’s nature and the presence of flammable materials caused the fire to quickly spread throughout the entire hall.
Evacuation Complete, No Injuries Reported
Nine people evacuated from the threatened area. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
Multiple Agencies Respond to Incident
Eleven fire brigades are on site, along with the deputy commander of the Wołomin County State Fire Service, an operational group from the Warsaw Provincial Fire Service, police, and energy and gas emergency crews. Approximately 40 firefighters are involved in the operation.
Fire Under Control, Investigation Begins
The situation has been brought under control. Firefighters are currently extinguishing smoldering ruins and demolishing collapsed structural elements. These actions will allow for thorough inspection to ensure no hidden fire sources remain inside the building. The causes and circumstances of the fire are still unknown.
