Fire in Slupno Warehouse Traps Worker, Who Breaks Window to Escape

Around 12:10 in Słupno, a warehouse fire trapped a man who broke a window to escape as 11 fire brigades responded.

Fire Incident Details

Around 12:10 at ul. Żeromskiego in Słupno (Radzymin municipality, Wołomin county), a fire broke out in a warehouse hall spanning approximately 400 m². The fire originated in a section occupied by a tenant and engulfed stored materials.

Materials Affected and Smoke Conditions

The fire involved textiles and personal protective equipment items including footwear, vests, and textile gloves. Strong smoke filled the warehouse hall, creating hazardous conditions.

Worker’s Narrow Escape

When the fire spread, one man was trapped inside as the blaze blocked his escape route. He broke a window and, with assistance from witnesses who provided a ladder, escaped before emergency services arrived. No injuries were reported.

Emergency Response

A total of 11 fire brigades, along with emergency power services and police, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters brought the fire under control and began extinguishing procedures and demolition work to reach hidden hotspots.

Traffic Disruption and Investigation

During the emergency response, ul. Żeromskiego remains closed in both directions. Police are securing the incident site. The cause and circumstances of the fire are currently under investigation.
