Five Fire Crews Tackle Garbage Shed Blaze in Ochota

At 6:45 a.m., a blaze erupted in two garbage sheds on Włodarzewska Street in Ochota, Warsaw, prompting five fire crews and 19 firefighters to fight the fire before it was extinguished at 8:32 a.m.

Dispatch to Włodarzewska Street

At 6:45 a.m. the Warsaw Fire Department received a call about a fire in two garbage‑storage sheds at Włodarzewska Street in Ochota. The blaze quickly engulfed one of the shacks, causing significant damage, but no injuries were reported.

Immediate Firefighting Actions

Upon arrival, the first crew found a fully ignited shed. They unleashed two streams of water to attack the burning structure and its contents. During the operation the roof collapsed, hampering access to the fire source and requiring cautious tactics.

Electrical Safety Measures

Because of a nearby transformer station supplying surrounding blocks, an electric‑utility rescue unit was summoned. Technicians secured the electrical installation in the area so the firefighters could operate safely. After the main fire was stoked, rescuers dismantled the charred elements and put out remaining embers.

Extinguishment and Investigation

A total of five crews, including 19 firefighters, worked on the scene until 8:32 a.m. Once the fire was out, the area was handed over to police, who will investigate the cause and circumstances of the incident.
