The incident occurred on Saturday, February 21, in Olszyna (Lower Silesian Voivodeship). Initial media reports incorrectly stated the fall occurred from the fifth floor. Officer Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń of Luban Police Station clarified it was the fourth floor. Preliminary investigations indicate an intoxicated man was caring for the five-year-old girl at the time. The child was transported to a hospital in Jelenia Góra, where her condition is stable.
Legal Proceedings
The 34-year-old man underwent testing and was found to have approximately 1.7 promila of alcohol in his system. He was detained and has been charged with intentionally exposing a five-year-old child to direct life-threatening danger or serious bodily harm. The man admitted to the offense and provided a statement. He has no prior criminal record, and there were no previous police interventions in the family. He was not remanded into custody but placed under supervision.
