Police in Kosów Lacki pursued a BMW driver who failed to stop for inspection, resulting in a crash into a roadside ditch.
Pursuit and Crash
On Sunday (February 8), police in Ceranów municipality attempted to stop a BMW for a routine traffic inspection. The driver ignored the police’s light and sound signals and initiated a chase.
Due to excessive speed, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a roadside ditch. The 39-year-old driver sustained no injuries.
Legal Issues
Upon checking police databases, it was discovered that the man did not possess a driver’s license. During the subsequent inspection, officers also found drugs in his possession.
A preliminary drug test indicated that the man may have been driving under the influence of narcotics, which will be confirmed by blood test results.
Potential Penalties
The man will face court for his offenses. For driving without a license, he could receive arrest, restriction of liberty, or a fine of no less than 1,500 Polish zloty.
For driving under the influence of narcotics and drug possession, he could face up to 3 years in prison.
