FlixBus Crashes Through Barrier on A4 Highway, Windows Shatter

FlixBus crashes through energy-absorbing barriers on A4 highway in Opolskie before 4 AM, no injuries reported.

Incident on A4 Highway

The incident occurred before 4:00 AM on Sunday at the 204th kilometer of the A4 highway, between the Brzeg and Opole Zachód junctions. A bus traveling northbound toward Wrocław veered left, penetrating energy-absorbing barriers in the median strip before crossing onto the southbound lane toward Katowice, according to Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.

Traffic Disruptions

The bus stopped in the median strip. An RMF FM listener reported windows falling out of the vehicle. A 41-year-old driver failed to adjust speed to road conditions, stated Opole Provincial Police spokesperson asp. Przemysław Kędzior. The bus carried 44 passengers and two drivers; no one was injured. The driver, who was sober, received a 2,000 zł fine. Around 5:00 AM, a replacement bus arrived to transport passengers to Wrocław. Services reported the right lane and shoulder were blocked, with disruptions expected to continue until approximately 7:15 AM.
